I think that challenge was a fun challenge especially sense this is my first time doing a thirty day challenge. This challenge has truly impacted me because Pepsi or pop is like a tradition everywhere you go you see it everywhere. Also sometimes I forget about the challenge and accidentally drank soda or Pepsi, and sometimes I just drink a small cup of Pepsi out of ignorance of the challenge. Now I intentionally did not tell my family I was doing the challenge because I wanted to see if I could complete it on my own as I said in my previous blog. Now lucky my mother does this coupon thing where she saves a lot of money so she can go shopping and get food and drinks so I had a lot of substitute solutions instead of drinking the Pepsi’s that we had. I would like to try another thirty-day challenge because it was fun to me and I liked doing it. A thirty-day challenge that I would like to try is probably a challenge you would have to live like a homeless person. What I mean by that is not using electricity or pollution just to see how much energy you save for the Environment.
So far my experience with the 30-day challenge has been OK I would think. The reason that I think that is because in today’s society soda or pop is common no matter where you. Like you could be having a family get together or be at an event of some sort and there would be pop there. I’m not going to lie I have cheated about 3 or 4 times so far because cause of arrogance but besides that I try my best to remember the challenge. So far I know that I have been completing the 3 pillars because there is lots of pop in the house and I usually am the one that drinks a lot of the pop and ever sense the challenge has started the amount of pop that we had before the challenge and the amount we have today have barley change by one to five cans. Also I know that we are supposed to tell our family about our challenge but I want to see if I can complete the challenge on my own without my families help. So they really haven’t noticed that I wasn’t drinking pop that much but I know that I am lower the amount of corn syrup and ingredients it takes to make the pop by choosing not to drink soda. Sometimes I would just plain out forget that I am doing the challenge and drink a pop and remember after I get done drinking the pop which makes me mad but I guess I can not be made because we are human and we are not perfect.
I will be giving up soda for 30 days to make to make the environment better, I am giving up soda because main ingredient in soda's are high in fructose corn syrup which the farmers use a lot of corn to make the fructose corn syrup which the farmers can use to make corn instead of soda that is filled with lots of sugar that we do not need plus it has zero benefit in it besides temporary energy that only lasts for about 30 minutes. Also here is one example that fructose corn syrup does to the environment Most corn is grown as a monoculture, meaning that the land is used solely for corn, not rotated among crops. This maximizes yields, but at a price: It depletes soil nutrients, requiring more pesticides and fertilizer while weakening topsoil."The environmental footprint of HF-CS is deep and wide," writes Pollen, a prominent critic of industrial agriculture. "Look no farther than the dead zone in the Gulf [of Mexico], an area the size of New Jersey where virtually nothing will live because it has been starved of oxygen by the fertilizer runoff coming down the Mississippi from the Corn Belt. Then there is the Thorazine in the water in farm country -- a nasty herbicide that, at concentrations as little as 0.1 part per billion, has been shown to turn male frogs into hermaphrodites." also i will substituent any other juice that is besides soda
